Staking SEI with StaFi
This document is intended for users and developers who want to learn more about StaFi Staked SEI and how to stake SEI using StaFi.
Introduction
rSEI is the first LST based on EVM in the SEI eco. Developed by StaFi LSaaS Stack, rSEI addresses the challenge of balancing mainnet security and token liquidity within SEI.
How to stake SEI with StaFi
Required Wallet
EVM Wallet
- Download Metamask from the Metamask Website (opens in a new tab).
- Once installed, follow the instructions to import an existing wallet or create a new one.
Linking Sei and EVM / 0x Addresses
Make sure your SEI token is in the EVM address before staking SEI with StaFi. If not, please follow this guide to link Sei and EVM / 0x addresses.

Navigate to https://app.sei.io (opens in a new tab) and connect to your Metamask wallet.

Click “Link Addresses” after completing captcha.

Sign a message from your Metamask wallet.

Your addresses is linked as shown in the following picture.
- Transfer SEI token to the linked Sei address, then you can stake SEI on StaFi rSEI App.
Go to staking page
Visit the rToken App (opens in a new tab) and click the "Stake" button.
Connect wallet
Click on the “Connect Wallet” button to connect your Metamask wallet.
Input staking amount
Enter the amount of SEI you would like to stake. Review the amount of rSEI you will receive and the Annual Percentage Rate (APR) for staking. Click the "Stake" button to proceed.
Confirm transaction and await for confirmations
Upon clicking “Stake”, you will be redirected to your Metamask wallet. Confirm the transaction details, including gas fees. To proceed, click on the "Confirm" button to sign the transaction. Wait for the transaction to be confirmed and the staking operation to be completed successfully.
Add rSEI to your wallet
Navigate to the rSEI Dashboard (opens in a new tab) and click on the "Add rSEI to Wallet" button. A Metamask prompt will appear, select "Add token" to include rSEI in your wallet.
Track rewards
Monitor your staked SEI and its rewards by visiting your Profile (opens in a new tab).

Commission Fee
10% of SEI staking rewards will be allocated to StaFi DAO.
Unstake
In the interest of security and stability, the unstake feature of rSEI is presently unavailable. It is scheduled to become accessible upon the full release of SEI V2 or around 2024 Q4. Meanwhile, StaFi will collaborate with protocols within the SEI ecosystem to enhance the utility of rSEI.
Go to SEI unstaking page
Visit the SEI unstaking page (opens in a new tab), and proceed by clicking on the "Unstake" tab.
Input unstaking amount
Enter the desired amount of rSEI you would like to unstake, and proceed by clicking on the "Unstake" button.
Confirm transaction and wait for confirmations
After clicking "Unstake," you will be redirected to your Metamask wallet. Confirm the spending cap of SEI and approve it.
Once confirmed, a second transaction pop-up for staking will appear. Confirm the transaction details, including gas fees. Click the "Confirm" button to sign the transaction.
Wait for the transaction to be confirmed and the unstaking process to be completed successfully.
Unbonding rSEI take 22 days before it can be withdrawn.
Withdraw
rSEI will need to be manually withdrawn from the Withdraw Tab on the rSEI Dashboard once the unbonding period has ended. Click on “Withdraw” button to proceed.
Receive tokens
Verify the transaction and the associated Gas fees on your Metamask Wallet. To proceed, click on the "Confirm" button to sign the transaction. Upon confirmation of the transaction, SEI tokens will be withdrawn and sent to your wallet.
